Last Updated: 12/1/2025

Thank you for your interest in joining the WellMatched therapist cohort. These Participation Terms describe what is required of you as an independently licensed provider (“Provider”) and how WellMatched operates as a matching service. By checking “I agree,” you acknowledge and accept the terms below.

1. Nature of the Relationship

  • WellMatched is a matching service, not a clinic, group practice, employer, or telehealth company.

  • Providers remain independent practitioners responsible for all aspects of clinical care.

  • No employment, partnership, supervision, or clinical oversight relationship is created.

2. Eligibility Requirements

Providers participating in the cohort must:

  • Hold an active, independent license in good standing in each state where they practice.

  • Maintain current malpractice/professional liability insurance.

  • Work only with clients who reside in states where they are legally licensed.

  • Notify WellMatched promptly if licensure or insurance status changes.

  • Notify WellMatched promptly if availability to take on new clients changes.

3. What the Application Represents

  • Your application becomes your internal profile used for client matching.

  • The information you provide should be accurate and up to date.

  • Your profile is not public and is shared only with matched clients.

4. Provider Responsibilities

By joining the cohort, Providers agree to:

  • Upload a short 60–90 second introductory video (shown only to matched clients).

  • Complete two brief feedback check-ins during the beta period.

  • Submit a 30-second “alignment rating” after receiving match notifications.

  • Maintain full responsibility for:

    • clinical decisions

    • documentation

    • boundaries and communication

    • assessment, treatment, risk management, and termination

  • Operate ethically and lawfully in accordance with their licensure board.

  • Not submit PHI (protected health information) to WellMatched at any time.

5. What WellMatched Provides

WellMatched will:

  • Maintain a secure, private internal profile for Providers.

  • Use a combination of algorithmic matching and licensed clinician review to identify strong client–provider matches.

  • Share your intro video, specialty overview, and (if you choose) consult booking link only with matched clients.

  • Never display you in a public directory or marketplace.

  • Never supervise or direct your clinical work.

6. Match Notifications & Client Contact

  • Match notifications include a non-identifying summary of why you were matched.

  • Providers take action only if a client reaches out directly.

  • Providers may decline to engage with any matched client.

  • WellMatched does not guarantee the number of clients, volume, or referrals.

7. Confidentiality & PHI

Providers agree:

  • Not to send WellMatched any PHI.

  • Not to include client names, diagnoses, or identifying information in surveys, feedback, or communications.

  • To comply with all HIPAA and state privacy requirements in their independent practice.

8. Removal from the Cohort

WellMatched may remove a Provider at any time for:

  • Unprofessional behavior

  • Ethical violations

  • Repeated non-responsiveness

  • Loss or suspension of licensure

  • Providing false or misleading information

  • Violating these Participation Terms

Providers may withdraw at any time by contacting WellMatched.

9. Limitation of Liability

WellMatched is not responsible for:

  • Clinical outcomes

  • Provider–client communication

  • Fees, scheduling, or documentation

  • Any disputes arising between Providers and clients

  • Any clinical decision-making or risk management actions

Providers hold full and sole responsibility for their clinical services.

10. Updates to These Terms

WellMatched may update these Terms as needed. Providers will be notified before updates go into effect. Continued participation constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
