Matched, not browsed

Clients never browse your profile. They receive you as a curated match — alongside a brief explanation of why you were chosen for them. First contact comes from someone who already knows you're the right fit.

Intro video — your voice

If accepted, you'll record a 60–90 second introduction video or upload a headshot. Private, only shared with matched clients. It gives clients a sense of you before they reach out — reducing cold contact.

No public profile

Your information is never publicly accessible. Your internal profile — specialties, modalities, identity competencies — is only shared with clients who are matched with you. Your privacy is maintained.

Minimal commitment

Two brief feedback check-ins and a match alignment rating after each notification. That's the full ask. No ongoing administrative burden. No weekly check-ins.

Full independence

Your fees, your schedule, your EHR, your clinical decisions — all yours. WellMatched handles matching. You handle everything else. There is no group practice relationship.

Identity-informed curation

We actively curate for representation across specialties, identities, and modalities. Your identity competencies and lived experience are treated as clinical assets, not demographic checkboxes.

THE PROCESS

1. Apply

Submit an application covering licensure, specialties, modalities, and identity-informed competencies. This becomes your internal profile.

2. We review

Applications are reviewed for clinical fit, professionalism, and network balance. Not every applicant is accepted. Applying is free.

3. Record/upload your intro

If accepted, record a brief video introduction or upload a headshot. Only shared with clients matched to you.

4. Receive matches

When we identify a strong fit, you receive a non-identifying overview of why you were matched. You take action only if the client contacts you.

5. Stay fully independent

Full autonomy over your practice. Your fees, schedule, documentation, and clinical decisions remain entirely yours.

  • No. We do not publish therapist profiles, and clients cannot browse or filter therapists.

  • Clients only see:

    • Your name and credentials

    • A short overview of your specialties, identities (if shared), and therapy style

    • Your intro video

    • Your optional consult booking link or contact information

    • A brief explanation of why they were matched with you

    Nothing is publicly available - this information is only shown to clients who match with you.

    1. You complete your application which, if accepted, becomes your internal profile.

    2. Clients complete their intake.

    3. Our clinically-backed algorithm identifies potential fits.

    4. You and the client both receive a match summary.

    5. You’ll be asked to complete a brief match alignment rating form.

    6. The client contacts you directly if they wish to move forward.

  • Nope! A match notification simply means you’ve been identified as a good fit. You only take action if the client contacts you and you decide it’s appropriate to work together.

  • Yes. This is optional. If you provide a link, we’ll include it in the client’s match summary so they can book directly.

  • Yes. There is no fee to be part of the therapist cohort.

    1. Yes. You maintain full control over:

      1. fees and payment policies

      2. scheduling

      3. documentation and EHR

      4. clinical decisions and standards of care

    1. Two short feedback check-ins (about 5 minutes each)

    2. A 30-second alignment rating after each match notification

    3. Intro video after acceptance

    4. Maintain communication with WellMatched regarding availability to be matched with clients

    5. Maintain independent licensure, malpractice coverage, documentation, and clinical responsibility

    6. See clients only in jurisdictions where they are licensed

  • We curate based on clinical fit, professionalism, and diversity across specialties and identities. We don’t cap the cohort arbitrarily, but not every applicant will be accepted.
